The Food Truck Life: Festival Season Kicks Off
It’s that time of year again, my favourite season of them all; Festival Season. Our next few months are jammed packed with events and we will be giving you behind the scenes glimpses into life on the road! There are constant highs and lows when running a street food business and we thought why not share them all with you? We’re going to be letting you in on all the ups and downs of food truck life so stay tuned for the mud, music and madness of it all.
We started off strong with SkyBar, a pop up nightclub with a view. They have 8 different locations this summer all over the southwest. What a weekend it was, SkyBar sure took Croyde by storm! Although referred to as a bar or nightclub, it really has a mini festival feel. The music starts off mellow with a bit of acoustic and gets increasingly heavier, moving into house or electro-swing, throughout the night. With 2 tents and 5 different bars to choose from including a shots bar and cocktail bar it’s easy to find your perfect poison. This was one of the only weekends in the next few months we actually got to sleep in – let alone in our own bed (as it was just down the road from where we live in Croyde)!
Next, are two of our busiest festivals back to back. We have Leopallooza..the Greatest House Party in a field and Fieldview, a perfectly sized grassroots festival. Our turnover time between the 2 festivals is 2 and a half days, so no pressure! Leo is a new one for us down in Bude and we will have a bigger team than usual, totaling 6 people. I’ve had the pleasure of doing my first real ROTA which is obviously soo much fun. It will be nice to have a little crew going though for sure. We will be doing Fieldview on our own again, which means three 16-hr days in a row, but ideally the stage will be right in front of us like last year and should definitely keep us going.
Keep an eye on our instagram for some interesting festival scenes!
